I havent gotten a response from the Williamson company. Thanks you tried Google, right I did and it said to call the company Did it look like an 03 model That would be my initial guess.
Thanks From what I can tell, Williamson is an off shoot or subsidiary (purchased by) of Weil-Mclain, who never made furnaces, just boilers and now has furnaces as well as green boilers with the Williamson name and all the trimmings of a Weil-McLain, including the CP on a sticker someplace near the dataplate. Looks like this. Click to Enlarge 26.19 KB In this case, the QC sticker above is a giveaway but they arent always therevisible. Water Furnace Serial Nomenclature Professional Tools WhereWith the WMs they have a page on their website under the Resourcesprofessional tools where you type in the CP and get the date of manufacture. Cant find a similar page on the Williamson site but you should be able to call their tech support and give them the CP. Nothing in the serial s correlates to the date of manufacture. Older units have one style while newer units that were made in 2002 and later will have another. The Trane furnace age can be difficult to determine unless you know how to interpret the code found in the serial number. Depending on the age of the unit, the serial number may take one of four different forms. If you need to know how to crack the code, here is everything you need to know Check the Data Plate Look for the data plate on your furnace. This is a small sticker or plate that contains all of the pertinent details you need to know about this particular unit. It includes your serial number, model number, ANSI rating, and more. Note that your serial number is not the same thing as the model number. ![]() They have a specific section of their data plate that lists a manufactured in category. This takes all of the guesswork out of identifying the Trane furnace age. If your units data plate does not display this information so clearly, how can you tell when it was manufactured The easiest way to track the age of a Trane furnace is to look for the serial number. This is a string of letters and numbers that indicate exactly when the unit was made if you know how to read it. At first glance, it appears not to have much important information, but those who know how to read the Trane serial number know how beneficial it can be. Newer Models If the unit was made between 2002 and the present day, you should find a nine-digit serial number that consists of letters and numbers. Remember that your serial number is not the same thing as the model number. These numbers indicate the year that your furnace was manufactured. ![]() Typically, the following number would not make sense as a double-digit year. We know that the unit could not have been made in the year 2026, so we can conclude that the Trane manufacture date was simply 2002. When it makes sense, the first two numbers might represent the manufacturing year. The next numbers in the serial number represent the week that the unit was made. With a little clever math, you can figure out the manufacture date of your Trane unit right down to the month. For example, a serial number that starts off with 850 was made in the fiftieth week of the year 2008. While you may not necessarily need this level of detail, it is always nice to have as much information as possible about your appliances. Identifying the age of the furnace is a little more complicated if it does not directly state when it was manufactured. You have to know how to read the Trane serial number and interpret the results. ![]()
